Individual Therapy for Teens and Adults
In individual therapy, we will identify your goals, collaborate on a plan to work towards achieving those goals, and work together to implement changes in your thoughts, behaviors, and how you cope with emotions. You may be in a particularly difficult period of your life and need short-term solution-focused treatment to get through it. You might be experiencing a lifelong pattern that has gotten the best of you, and need more time to unlearn the pattern and relearn a more helpful way of moving through life. In some cases, both of these are true at the same time, and we will spend time working on each issue in order of importance/urgency.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is helpful for addressing short or long-term issues with communication, behaviors, and understanding one another. I will be working for your family as a whole, not just one member, and will serve as a professional unbiased third party. Joining with a family as a therapist means there is no space for taking sides or deciding who is right or wrong. We will work together towards the most helpful/healthy resolution while validating each family member’s experience.
